My family and I have just had a beautiful Christmas dinner at the Black a Moor Inn and we couldn't fault it. The service was excellent and the staff were so friendly and attentive, especially with little one. The food was beautifully presented and tasted as good as it looked. We were blown away by the quality of food for the price. The restaurant was busy but spacious and looked very festive. We can't wait to visit again.

We stayed here last weekend as we going to a nearby wedding. What a fabulous place! From the moment we arrived, Callum and his staff made us feel really welcome. Nothing was too much trouble, and our room was clean, comfortable and warm. Many thanks to Doug for one of the best breakfasts we have had. I would definitely recommend and will be back soon.

Their roast Sunday lunch was very good and at a reasonable price. The portions were a little large for me although I'm sure the majority of people would be very happy. I did only leave a couple of roast potatoes, a shame because they were tasty and I never like to waste food food. The staff were friendly, efficient; clearing and wiping tables clean quickly after people left. Altogether very good and we will be going again.

Genuinely wish we could give more than 5 stars! We were so warmly welcomed by Kate and Callum on arrival. We were shown to the room and it’s a beautiful little room which was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. Brucey bonus with the Yorkshire tea bags!! Our little pooch met and fell in love with everyone as they did with him. We had food in the room on the night and a meal in the bar the next day. The pizza made by Georgina was just beautiful, home made dough which was so light and fluffy with quality topping and a lovely sauce and great fries topped off with the best onion rings we have ever had! The three course Sunday dinner was also incredible, home made yorkies, beautiful season veggies and melt in the mouth meat with proper home made gravy! Big thanks to Kate again who went out of her way to get the pooch some sausages so he could eat with us! Such attention to detail! We came as strangers and feel we left as friends even getting a lovely hug from Kate as we said our farewells (well not farewell, see you later as we booked again as soon as we got home!!) Callum, you have a great establishment! Keep doing what you’re doing guys. We’ve loved every second of our time with you all! Thank you.

The beds were perfect! We had a good night sleep. The room was clean, quiet and there was enough space for the 3 of us. A good shower and a bath Breakfast was really good and not expensive at all. The staff was really friendly and helpfull. If we are in the area again and need a place to stay, we would definitely book a room here.

I booked the cheapest room I could find so wasn't expecting much, but this by far exceeded my expectations. Lovely room that was bigger than expected, powerful shower and comfortable beds. No additional charge to take a dog, and there was a good space behind the car park for the dog to run around in and do her business. We had dinner there and it was delicious and very fairly priced (with a bottle of wine for £15). The toad in the hole was the best I've ever had.

Stayed for a night with my daughter, a friend and her daughter, booking 2 double rooms. The rooms were clean and comfortable with good ensuite bathrooms. One room was larger than the other, both had tea and coffee facilities and a TV. Beds were comfortable. We stayed at the front of the pub, so there was some noise from the road but it didn't disturb us. We ate evening meal in the pub downstairs, the food was absolutely amazing, I had one of the nicest pizzas I've ever tasted! Kids meals are generous portions! And they had a kids eat free deal on (bonus!) There is a service charge added but you are made aware of this when paying and it can be taken off. Staff were friendly and very welcoming, my daughter loved the gemstones from the little shop at the rear of the restaurant. We had a great stay and it is ideally located for Ripon.

Had a great meal and lovely clean stay in the family room (for just the two of us) on a very quiet Thursday night. Absolutely lovely service despite us being two of the only people having dinner downstairs. We played some of the games and darts they had as well. Couldn’t have had a smoother experience!
